Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How long has your company been in business and how experienced are your disc jockeys performing weddings?
A. The owner of Event Photography and Videography has been in the wedding business over 25 years. All of our staff have been shooting weddings and events for at least 10 years. They are some of the top professionals in the industry.
Q. Do you provide a written contract for your services?
A. This should be YES without exception! Never take someone's word for it. Get it in writing!
Q. May we see examples of your work?
A. We have a photo gallery online but you can also have a free consultation with a photographer to see their work. You can also meet with a videographer but you can see samples online. The photographer will be with you and interacting with your group all day, so make sure you hire someone you feel comfortable with. The videographer will not be interacting as much, just documenting everything on film so personality should not be as important.
Q. How many hours are included and is an album included in our package?
A. All of our packages clearly state what is included. Some clients want an album, others want just a CD of their images to make their own album or reprints to save cost. Your photographer must be hired at least an hour before the start of the ceremony to take some pre-ceremony photos.
Q. Have you been to our venue before?
A. Our staff has been to just about every venue in Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia, but we can certainly check with your assigned staff member to make sure.
Q. How many images are taken and how long before we can see our proofs?
A. Depending on your package, typically 500 - 900 images are shot by your photographer. The photos are posted online on our website usually within 30 days of the wedding. During the busy wedding season, they could take longer.
Q. Is our deposit refundable and when it the balance due?
A. Unfortunately we do not refund deposits because you are reserving a particular person for your event. The balance is due 2 weeks before the wedding.
Q. Can you provide a replacement if for some reason beyond your control you can not make it?
A. This question gets asked a lot. We have a staff so a replacement should be available in case of an emergency but this RARELY ever happens, so do not be concerned. We do have a backup plan in place.
Q. How would you describe your style?
A. The photographers are unobtrusive photojournalist, but they can also shoot portraits and formals so the style is basically what the client request. Candid's are always fun photos to capture those unforgettable expressions.
Q. What does the photographer / videographer wear to a wedding reception?
A. The staff member will always dress in appropriate attire according to the event and the wishes of the client. For weddings our staff members wear suits or black attire unless otherwise instructed.
Q. Are my videos edited and how long does it take to receive them?
A. This depends on the package you purchase. Raw footage videos are usually shipped out within 2 weeks. Edited videos are finished usually in 6-8 weeks as long as the client has provided the photos for the montage and selected the music.
